We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to work on-site with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD providing support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).
Duties Include:
-Interpret data and determine normal and abnormal findings that merit immediate clinical action, such as serious abnormal MRI or laboratory findings; present data and analyses to the primary investigators for clinical monitoring
- Obtain consent for MRI procedures
- Make recommendations for appropriate referrals, including NIH resources
- Provide comprehensive patient care activities in the outpatient MRI setting
-Recruit and screen healthy volunteers and patients for MRI, MRS and other imaging procedures
- Conduct structured and semi-structured interviews, screen subjects
-Develops outreach materials for students and the general public.
-Provide support during procedures for brain imaging and neuromodulation studies
Schedule:
Full-Time, Monday-Friday, with flexibility to provide up to 20 hours of weekend MRI scanning support as needed to accommodate research protocol and participant scheduling requirements.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
-Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
-Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in at least one U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
-MRI Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
MRI safety training or MRSO certification
ANCC certification
Experience with psychiatric populations
